Charity Iriowen

Charity Iriowen is a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP), board-certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. Charity began her nursing career over a decade ago in a medical-surgical unit and worked briefly at a nursing home care, then moved on to an inpatient psychiatric unit for several years before transitioning into an advanced practice registered nurse role.

Her area of expertise includes but is not limited to ADHD, substance/alcohol use, mood disorders, anxiety, bipolar, trauma, and PTSD. She has worked in various community behavioral health centers. Her therapeutic modalities encompass various holistic approaches, each carefully selected to suit individual needs. Her therapeutic approach includes but is not limited to Motivational Interviewing, a Patient-centered approach, and Mindfulness as an adjunct to medications or as monotherapy.

Charity specializes in initial psychiatric evaluation and medication management for individuals across the lifespan. She is a clinician who engages in active listening driven by evidence-based, patient-centered, authentic, and empathetic care and provides high-quality patient care in a collaborative approach.

Charity is also a clinical preceptor who takes pride in supporting advanced practice registered nursing students throughout their practicum. Charity is committed to providing holistic care and empowering patients to function at their maximum potential. At the very first initial psychiatric evaluation, Charity goes beyond the Biopsychosocial Model by incorporating the theory of mind to foster empathy and compassionate care. Guided by the principles of self-care and human caring, Charity is passionate about the importance of embracing intentional wellness on a day-to-day, moment-to-moment basis.
